Earl W Overstreet II President, General Microsystems Inc. Keynote Address: "Putting the Power of Your Education to Work" Saturday, May 5, 2007 6:00 p.m. - Social Hour 7:00 p.m. - Dinner and Honors Program Student Union Building--Highline Community College (Building 8 on the map)

Mr. Overstreet is president of General Microsystems Inc. (GMI), a company he founded in 1983. GMI solutions include server and desktop systems, storage, data management, and security products from industry leading vendors including Sun Microsystems, Hitachi Data Systems, and Symantec. Customers include The Boeing Company, Expeditors International, Washington Mutual, Starbucks, the State of Washington, and Group Health Cooperative.

GMI received the 2006 Distinguished Business Achievement Award from the University of Washington Business School's Business and Economic Development Center. The company was also on the Puget Sound Business Journal's 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies List in 2005 and 2006.

Earl's career started at the General Electric Miniature Lamp Department where he held positions in manufacturing, sales, and marketing. At Wyle Laboratories Electronic Marketing Group his responsibilities included sales, sales management, and division management.

Earl has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and Tabor 100.

He serves on the board of directors for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and the Case Western Reserve University Puget Sound Alumni Chapter. He is also a member of the Bel-Red Corridor Steering Committee.
