Faculty Resources : CB Admission Requirements

Students must apply and be admitted to the major before enrolling in 300-400 level courses in the College of Business (CB). At the time of application, all 200 level pre-admission requirements should be substantially completed. Equivalent lower division (100-200 level) courses may be transferred toward meeting the pre-admission requirements. Application forms are available in the department offices. The completed application must be accompanied by transcripts that reflect all prior college work. Admission shall be based on grades earned in the pre-admission requirements.

Business courses taken to fulfill the requirements for an undergraduate or graduate degree from the CWU College of Business must have been taken within the last 10 years at the time of graduation. Exceptions may be made, but must be approved prior to acceptance into the College of Business by the department chair and dean or designee.

Full admission to the B.S. Accounting major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 in the pre-admission requirements courses with a minimum grade of “C-” (1.7) in each course. The credit/no credit option will not be accepted for any of these courses and the department will strictly enforce the CWU policy on repeating classes. The applicant also must have completed all university general education requirements. The applicant must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 in all collegiate study.

Full admission to the B.S. Business Administration (BSBA) major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in the pre-admission courses with a minimum grade of C- (1.70) in each course. The credit/no credit option will not be accepted for any of these courses. The applicant must have completed ENG 101/102. These criteria apply to equivalent courses transferred from other institutions.

Full admission to the B.S. Economics major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 in the pre-admission courses with a minimum grade of C- (1.70) in each course. The credit/no credit option will not be accepted for any of these courses. The student must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 in all collegiate study. These criteria also apply to equivalent courses transferred from other institutions.

Students who have met all requirements will be fully admitted unless the number of eligible applicants at that location exceeds the available space. In that case, students will be admitted based on a competitive selection procedure.
