Mark Pearson

Mark is a senior partner in the Seattle office of Ernst & Young, currently serving as the coordinating partner on a global manufacturing client. Prior to his return to a client service role in early 2004, Mark was based in Cleveland, Ohio, as Ernst & Young's National Director of AABS Standards and Methodology and a member of the firm's Accounting and Auditing Committee; the firm's senior technical body. In that role, Mark managed the groups that monitor the development of and create guidance relating to professional standards for assurance services, including the firm's Global Audit Methodology.

Prior to his assignment to a National role, Mark was a client service partner in the firm's San Francisco office where he specialized in large, multi-national clients. His client responsibilities included the engagement partner role for BankAmerica Corporation and, just prior to his return to National, the coordinating partner role for Transamerica Corporation as well as a large, privately-held manufacturing company. In Cleveland, Mark continued his history of client service as the coordinating partner on the audit of a $123 billion multi-state bank holding company.

Mark's career included a two-year appointment as a practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). While at FASB, Mark worked closely with the Accounting Standards Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Securities Exchange Commission and the FASB Emerging Issues Task Force. Between his tour at the FASB and his move to the San Francisco office, Mark served in the National office as a partner in Professional Practice consulting on a variety of technical matters.

Mark began his career in public accounting in 1972 in Ernst & Young's Seattle Office where he served a variety of manufacturing and financial services companies.

Mark and his wife, Cindy, reside in Redmond, Washington and have two adult children. Mark is a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Washington University Foundation.
