Research Interests:

Enzymology of carbohydrate metabolism

The enzyme glucose 6-phosphatase plays a central role in carbohydrate metabolism and in the regulation of blood glucose levels. Work in my group has focused on the effects of inhibitors of this enzyme, both in normal and diabetic conditions, and in efforts to isolate this enzyme from various sources.
