Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
The Center for Excellence in Leadership is authorized to administer the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) assessment. The MBTI is an assessment that is used to determine a person's personality type.
YES! Genetics and cumulative life experiences work together to give us each a unique personality type. To a large extent, our personality shapes the way we communicate. The world is full of different personalities and we need to be able to intelligently interact with them. Awareness of one’s own personality characteristics can lead to drastically improved interpersonal communications.
The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is an assessment that helps you determine your personality type. The tool has been around for over 50 years and is used by over 90 Fortune 100 companies to improve employee communications and quality of leadership. The process is simple...you take about thirty minutes to fill out a pencil-and-paper survey. The survey results are then used as a beginning point to determine your personality type.
Although every individual is unique, there are some commonalities in our personalities. A personality type is a way to look at how a person might most usually behave or think. The MBTI focuses on four aspects of personality: where you focus energy, how you take in information, how you make conclusions, and how you deal with the outer world.
Excellent! The MBTI assessment can be administered to individuals or groups:
Individual sessions: You will receive one-on-one training in personality type theory and how it affects interpersonal communications and leadership. You will be given the opportunity to take the MBTI and discuss your results with a trained practitioner. The initial session will take one hour. There is a small $5 charge to help cover the cost of testing materials. Follow-up sessions may be scheduled to work on specific leadership issues.
Group administrations: Training can be provided to your team. This workshop is great for club officers and work teams. Each team member will be given the opportunity to take the assessment. Members will be able to understand not only their personality type, but each others as well. Understanding other team members at this level has proven to be very helpful. The group administration takes about ninety minutes. There is a small $5 charge per person to help cover the cost of testing materials.
