What is Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK)?
ODK is the national leadership honor society. ODK recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership, exemplary character, and campus improvement.
What are the membership qualifications?
Junior or Senior
3.0 GPA and above
Top 35% of graduating class
Must show leadership in at least one of the following:
- Scholarship
- Athletics
- Campus or community service (including social and religious activities, and campus government)
- Journalism, speech, and the mass media
- Creative and performing arts
Why should I apply for membership?
ODK is a very prestigious national leadership honor society and is recognized by many as a "mark of distinction." Membership in ODK is life-long and is intended to be included on resume's, job applications, etc. ODK provides a vessel for recognizing leaders around campus, and being a member serves as high recognition in and of itself. ODK also provides an opportunity for personal and professional development.
What is the time commitment required for joining ODK?
ODK is not intended to make busy people busier. The time commitment will be fairly minimal. There are ODK meetings about once or twice a month in order to recognize leaders on campus and discuss new memberships. There is also one big event each year that ODK will sponsor.
How much is the membership fee?
The membership fee is
$80.00. $70 will be sent to the national headquarters, and $10 will be retained for local operating costs. This fee covers a
lifetime membership.
