Regional Representative

The Regional Representative is, as the name says, the representative of the region to the national CCSC organization. The representative acts as the main communication channel between CCSC and the region. The representative acts as the organizer and activator for the region.

Synopsis of Duties

  1. Chair the regional board meetings of which there are three each year:
    1. Post conference
    2. January at the site for this year's conference.
    3. May at the site for next year's conference.
  2. Attend national board meetings to provide coordination with the national organization. There are two such meetings each year:
    1. Before the national SIGCSE conference (February-March).
    2. At a regional conference in the fall.
  3. Attend the CCSC Business meeting at SIGCSE.
  4. Work with Conference Committees (through the Chair):
    1. Ensure that budgets and timelines are reasonable for conferences.
    2. Ensure that solicitations for contributors and participants get out.
    3. Ask Chair if s/he has any questions. Either answer them or refer them to another board member.
  5. Solicit sites for future conferences. You cannot have too many.
  6. Anything else that needs doing you can't talk anyone else into doing.
