DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: Reduce accidents and crimes related to alcohol use by underage people. The Sheriff's Office participates in a variety of activities including special joint DUI emphasis patrols funded by the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission. They also participate in alcohol prevention programs in the high schools including "Every 15 Minutes" and "Mock DUI Accidents." For Central Washington University, they assist in the DUI goggles "Fatal Vision" programs. This is where students can interactively experience what it is like driving under the influence.
