KITTITAS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

TARGET POPULATION: Differs according to programs

MISSION STATEMENT: To protect and promote the health and the environment of the people of Kittitas County.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: We offer an array of services/programs aimed at preventing unhealthy behaviors or outcomes. Prevention and Health Promotion is the focus of population-based services (i.e. clean water, safe food service, immunizations, maternal and child health). There is a strong advocacy component to many of the programs that links clients and families to needed services. Drug and alcohol issues are often present for clients and dealt with by referrals tailored to individual needs. Tobacco Education and Prevention is the only real 'drug' prevention program we offer and there are several targeted programs within this arena.
