TARGET POPULATION: The mission of the Intervention Specialist is to provide direct substance abuse prevention and intervention services to students and their families regarding the students' involvement with alcohol and other drugs.

MISSION STATEMENT: The Easton School District promotes academic excellence and nurtures self-esteem and life-long learning for all individuals through a diverse curriculum and extra-curricular activities by preparing learners for the challenges of the future in a facility that services the needs of the students and the community.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: Serves dual role, school counselor and IP specialist; provides consultation to school personnel regarding substance abuse; organizes and facilitates support groups for students currently using, living with a substance abuser, or students in recovery or who are abstaining; provides substance abuse education/training services with students, staff, and community; serves as liaison between community mental health and drug treatment agencies; works with school personnel to provide/arrange chemical dependency assessments.
