Planning Strategy Mission Statement: The mission of the Campus-Community Coalition is to reduce underage and high-risk drinking by fostering a united and sustained commitment to that goal and by changing practices, expectations and policies within our communities. Needs, Goals & Objectives The Coalition identified five areas of need, developed a mission statement, articulated goals and objectives for each area of need, and created committees that would delineate work strategies to accomplish each objective. Identified Need #1: The need for knowledge and assessment of existing prevention\education programs.
Goal: Increase knowledge of existing programs that address high-risk & underage drinking in our community.
Objective: To develop and disseminate a resource directory. Goal: Assess the effectiveness of the various prevention programs in reducing high-risk and underage drinking. Objective: To form an assessment committee to develop a plan to evaluate the Campus-Community Coalition and to collaborate with local programs to assess effectiveness in reducing underage and high-risk drinking. Identified Need #2: The need for appropriate and consistent consequences within institutions and agencies for alcohol-related infractions.
Goal: Enhance effectiveness of policies, sanctions, and consequences within and among institutions and agencies.
Objectives:
Identified Need #3: A wide availability of alcohol products and over-promotion of those products to underage and high-risk drinkers.
Goal: Limit alcohol product availability & promotion to underage drinkers.
Objectives:
Identified Need #4: A lack of places for young adults (under 21) to gather.

Identified Need #5: A lack of a consistent and unified voice in supporting and encouraging positive community norms regarding underage and high-risk drinking.
Goal: Advocate, support and encourage positive community norms regarding underage and high-risk drinking.
Objective: To foster a social, academic and residential environment that supports healthy behavior. |
