Economics Honorary Society
Students with an interest in economics are invited to join Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE), the national economics honorary society. The purpose of the organization is to recognize and encourage academic achievement in economics. ODE sponsors talks and presentations by CWU faculty and invited economists, conference phone calls with nationally renowned economists, and seminars concerning graduate school and the job market. Student-faculty social gatherings are another tradition of ODE.
To become a member of ODE, a student must: (1) complete four economics courses (20 credits) and achieve at least a 3.0 GPA in these courses; (2) maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or above in all university course work.
If you are interested in joining ODE, please bring Professor David Hedrick (the current advisor of the society) a current transcript of your university course work and your checkbook--there is an initiation fee of $30. His office is in Shaw-Smyser 424.
