Mistletoe and holly are in full effect at CWU's annual Ware Fair, a juried holiday arts & crafts festival featuring northwest artists. The festivities begin in the Student Union and Recreation Center on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and continue Friday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
CWU students and the community are invited to take part the challenging sport of wheelchair basketball on Thursday, Nov. 12. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet, greet and play with the Seattle Jr. Sonics Wheelchair Basketball Team at the CWU Recreation Center. The event is free and open to the public.
CWU Outdoor Pursuits and Rentals invites all outdoor adventure enthusiasts to the free Banff Mountain Film Festival Preview Night on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit. The event gives viewers the chance to watch trailers and vote for the films that will be featured at the 33rd annual Banff Mountain Film Festival International Tour the following week.
Alternative band The Lonely Forest will bring their unique flavor of indie rock to Central for one night only, Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Ballroom. Opening for The Lonely Forest will be CWU favorite Red Means Go, a band made up of Central students. Admission is free and open to the public.
For people on either side of the issue of same-sex marriage, and for those who aren't sure where they stand, Campus Activities will host a debate Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center Theatre. The debate will feature philosopher, moralist and gay rights advocate Dr. John Corvino and speaker, consultant and family issues author Glenn Stanton. Admission is free and open to the public.
