CAH: New Assistant Professor Hired

Mei Chun is a specialist in late imperial Chinese fiction and theater. She received her Ph.D. in Chinese and Comparative Literature (2005) and MA in Chinese (2000) from Washington University in Saint Louis and her BA in English (1998) from Beijing University. Her teaching interests include both pre-modern and modern Chinese literature, Chinese language of all levels, and Chinese film. She is currently revising her dissertation, entitled "Playful Theatricals: Performativity and Theatricality in Late Imperial Narrative," and conducting research on the influence of physiognomy upon late imperial Chinese fiction.
