Rec center clothing requirements
I think it's ridiculous that students are forced to carry workout clothing around with them if they wish to use any of the equipment in the rec center. I have a busy schedule and my backpack is already filled with books. I understand how it is possible for jeans with metal on them or belts and wallet chains to ruin a bench press for example but not all jeans have these. Just today I went in to use the equipment before I go to work and was hassled to put a towel under me so as to not ruin the equipment. It is impossible for nothing but jean material and a plain leather belt to do any damage. I worked out regularly at Moses Lake High School for four years and even without any of the regulations that Central has Not ONCE did I ever see the equipment cut or ripped. The most likely culprit would be mischievous students intentionally ruining the equipment.

Library Holds/Renews
At my community library, if you need a book that is currently checked out, you can place a hold on it, so the person with the book checked out is not able to renew it again and then will be held on reserve for the patron requesting it for them to pick up. I had had some frustration with needing materials that are already in use, and I myself have several books out for a long period of time. It would be nice to know if someone in my shoes is really needing the books that I've checked out.

Response - Students and faculty have immediate access to millions of items through the Orbis Cascade Alliance database, see: http://www.orbiscascade.org/dbstats-06oct.htm for statistics. Rules for borrowing are established to meet the needs of the users. If you are finished with an item merely return it for others. If you need an item, go online from any computer, and with your student ID number you can recall an item immediately.

Required Dining Plans
Please stop ripping us off with the required dining plans. If you charge us X amount of dollars, please let us spend the money without taking 75% of it. Charge us more but at least be up front about it.

Forwarded to - Daniel Layman, Interim Director Dining Services
Response - Thank you for your inquiry
Dining Services and Housing require students to participate in the meal plans. However we do allow you to choose at what level or amount of meals , you wish to select. Because of budgeting needs and concerns, Dining has to insure that the income from the meal plans can pay our expenses. Every College and University that has a dining plan has some different program. Some charge different overhead expenses. Last year Dining had a program which gave the students full value and then waited for students to spend their money. What we found is that students did not spend their money and kept moving into smaller plans so in spring quarter Students did not spend the amount of money Dining was counting on. During those two years dining lost a lot of revenue. So with the new building and the required bod payment Dining has to insure that we would make our payment so Dining went back to a pervious meal plan in which to collect 65% for overhead expenses.

you should have a search engine for this site.(if that thing in the upper-right corner is for this site only, it shouldn't say "web search")

Forwarded to - Jesse Days, Web Developer, Information Technology Services
Response - The "Search Box" searches our domain only. Your point is well taken however and we'll address this naming issue. Thanks so much.
