Subject - Course Complaints
I was wondering were I could go to make a complaint about a specific professor or class.
Forwarded to - Provost Office
Response - Protocol is that a student (or any individual) that has a complaint about a specific professor or class should contact the chair's office of the department and discuss the problem with the chair. If the individual is not satisfied after that discussion, they would contact the Dean that is over that department. If the individual is still not satisfied, they should then contact the Provost's office.

Subject - Meal Plan Problems
Help!!!! My son is running out of meal plan meals and they won't let me
add to the card after a certain date in semester...he is running out of
food and can't afford fast food places. Can't this plan be altered some
way?
Forwarded to - Daniel Layman, Interim Director Dining
Services
Response - Thank you for the inquiry. Without knowing
which meal plan your son is on, I can only offer the following choice
to his meal plan problem. Each meal plan is set up to contribute a certain
amount of overhead to the whole Dining program. When a student gets low
on funds, they have the option to add money to the On-Campus Freedom Plan
which provides them with a 5%discount and the students does not have to
pay sales tax on the meals. The student can add any amount to that plan.
The student cannot add money to their meal plan because of the overhead
costs involved.

Subject - Recreation Family Pass
I would like to suggest a family pass for the fitness center. I am a non
trad and my 14 year old son is into lifting weights and working out. Currently
he can come 2x's a quarter for free then it cost 6$ per visit. That is
not affordable at all. It cost $95 for myself and additional $95 for my
husband If there were a family pass at $225 or less for everyone in the
family that would be great. I want to encourage my son to pursue healthy
habits and it would be helpfull if CWU were to make that easier. Thank
you for your time.
Forwarded to - Steve Waldeck Director, University Recreation
Response -Current Recreation Center policies do not allow
for anyone under the age of 18 to possess a membership to the Recreation
Center unless they are an enrolled student who may not yet be 18 years
of age.
It is true that each student member has the benefit of two guest passes
each quarter that they may use for any individual 14 years or older at
any time. Again, it is accurate that additional guest passes may purchased
for $6 for individuals 14 years or older at any time.
We do have family hours on Saturdays & Sundays before 3 pm that permit
access for dependents of members for just $1. ( http://www.cwu.edu/~rec/familyhours.html)
During these family hours children 6 -13 years of age are allowed on the
track, in the main gym, or in the climbing wall hours depending on the
hours of operation. At no time may a child 6 - 13 years of age be in the
weight room or cardio equipment areas.
We concur with the pursuit of healthy habits, but we must serve our primary
clientele, CWU students, while assuring that our access policies meet
proper risk management procedures.

Subject - Pop Machine Refill
I am not sure who to inform on this situation. But the pop machine in
Green Hall has been completely empty for about three weeks. If someone
could please inform the person in charge of this that our machine needs
filled that would be great. Thanks
Forwarded to - Daniel Layman, Interim Director Dining
Services
Response - I called Coca Cola to have their route person
check on the Green Hall vending situation

Subject - Overactive Flushing
For being a newer building, Shaw-Shmyser isn't exactly the most efficient
with the plumbing. In the women's restrooms, the auto-flush toilets are
extremely sensitive. When you so much as open the stall door, it flushes
in welcome. And I don't mean a low-flow flush, it's a deluge! During the
course of occupying the stall, it may flush one or two more times before
you leave.
Forwarded to - Robert J. Tosch Director, Maintenance
and Operations
Response - FMD has recently readjusted the sensors on
the automatic valves in the Shaw Smyser bathrooms. They should no longer
flush when the stall door opens or multiple times while occupying the
stall.
