Faculty/Staff Parking

My issue is with faculty and staff having to pay for parking at CWU. I would understand if this was Bellevue, the U-District, or downtown Seattle, and parking was hard to find, or it was a premium. But this is the little town of Ellensburg, for crying out loud, not the west side. Why isn't free parking one of our employee benefits, and if it's not free, then why isn't it deeply discounted?

Forwarded to -Trish Swanson, Program Support Supervisor, Public Safety and Police Services

Response - The majority of the permit fee is to pay for maintenance of the parking lots and for future expansion. The choice to purchase a permit is not mandatory. CWU does provide 252 free parking space that are available for all to use. Each free lot is near a Central Transit Stop see http://www.cwu.edu/~police/transit_map.html for details. Off campus parking outside of the RPZ (Residential Parking Zone) is also available. Each of the 6 State University's charge for parking on campus and CWU rates are among the lowest in the Pacific Northwest region.

Class registration

So, November 13th was my day to sign up for next quarter's classes. I picked 3 of the last 5 classes I needed and got good times. Unfortunately, due to the new safari those classes didn't go all the way through for me and I ended up with nothing. Now I'm screwed and scrambling for scraps. Not only was the website horribly constructed but the registrar's office was no help to me. Thanks

Forwarded to -Tracy Terrell, Registrar

Response - I am sorry to hear about the difficulties surrounding your class schedule. Students should review the new Registration Handbook located at www.cwu.edu/~regi/ for updated instructions on the new version of Safari. It will provide step by step instructions on how to go through all three steps of the enrollment process. It is important that student finish the third step to complete their enrollment process.

If a student has problems with any of Registrar Services team members they can always make an appointment with Tracy Terrell, Registrar. An appointment can be made by calling Tina Morefield at 963-3012.

Cashiers

Thanks to the lady working in the cashiers office for being so friendly today in sorting through my confusion. Quite often we only hear of complaints, but this time she really pulled through for me I wish I had taken the time to catch her name.

Forwarded to -Jana Kruckenberg, Student Financial Services Manager

Response - I appreciate that you took the time to share the experience you had with our office. We strive hard to provide excellent service and it is great to hear that you received the type of service I expect everyone to receive from Student Financial Services. Thank you for your comments.
