Our Students
Throughout Washington State, children are increasingly at risk of dropping out of school due to violence, broken homes, substance abuse, and gang activity. Minority students often experience alienation due to language barriers and cultural differences.
Bridges provides positive guidance and unique learning opportunities for underrepresented students ages 12-18 living in poor communities.
Bridges offers mentoring programs, homework help, field trips, and recreational activities to encourage young people not only stay in school, but to continue onto college.
Bridges activies and programs include:
- Technology camps
- Cultural events
- Leadership conferences
- College visitations
- College application assistance
As mentors help children, high school graduation rates grow and post secondary education attendance increases, resulting in a generational shift in the families and community.
Bridges believes that when young people feel good about themselves, they positively impact their friends and families, their schools, and their communities.
