Induction: How many of you have heard
of the game Ultimate Frisbee? It looks pretty fun, huh? Well, today we are
going to learn a few of the basic skills needed to play, and then at the end
of class we’ll have a few minutes to put those into practice in a quick game
of Ultimate Frisbee! Instant
Activity: Capture the Running Flag Mark
off a large enough boundary to contain the class, yet still allow plenty of
room for all to run. Assign, or ask for volunteers, 2-4 students to be flag
holders, then give each flag holder a scarf to either be tucked into their
back pocket or their waistband. Once the flag is put there, the flag holder
can no longer touch the flag. The rest of the students will chase the flag
holders, trying to capture the flag for themselves. Once they have captured
the flag, they now will try to protect it from the rest of the class. |
