Trustee Yu currently works at Shoreline Community College as the Director of College Communications. Prior to 2001, Judy managed a small marketing and public relations consultancy and served clients such as Nordstrom, Anheuser-Busch, Ringling Bros. Circus, ESPN, and many others.

Communications is at the heart of our organizations in today's world," says Judy. "Our world spins at light-speed these days and change happens every moment. We recognize that change forces us all to be better communicators in order to focus on the benefits of change, not the obstacles."

Judy moved to Seattle after having lived in Taiwan for five years working for Investec Taiwan, Ltd., the representative office of Coopers and Lybrand. During that time, Judy also established the first desktop publishing company on the island of Taiwan, a company that initiated the move towards computerized typesetting (in Chinese!). Her experience in Taiwan as a marketing consultant has opened her eyes to the need for American businesses to be more global in their approach to marketing.

She has served on the Board of Trustees at Central Washington University since 1998, as an appointee of Governor Gary Locke. She is married with one daughter who will enter UCLA in the fall of 2007. Her involvement in the community revolves around the Asian American community of Seattle, youth sports, and global organizations.
