David Valdez

David S. Valdez is Senior Vice President for Public Affairs, Policy and Communications for Verizon's West region. He is responsible for the company's regulatory, legislative, and external affairs initiatives in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. In addition, he oversees Verizon's community relations efforts, including the company's philanthropic arm, the Verizon Foundation, which provides grants to nonprofit organizations in the West.

Mr. Valdez received his L.L.M. in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law, and a B.A. from California State University, Northridge. He resides with his wife in Seattle, Washington.
