February 13-14, 2003 Special/ Regular Meeting

  • 03-02: The Board approved the new Masters of Education: Inclusive Teaching Stratagies program.
  • 03-03: The Board approved the requested additional compensation for concurrent sections in the distance education environment as submitted effective Winter Quarter, 2003.
  • 03-04: The Board adopted the Summer Session 2003 budget, effective Summer Quarter 2003. Undergraduate tuition will be increased to $105 per credit ($98 in 2002), graduate tuition to $153 per credit ($135 in 2002), and $130 per credit for post baccalaureate students ($115 in 2002).
  • 03-05: The Board approved the deletion of the Operations Management and Information Systems Specialization.
  • 03-06: The Board delegated authority to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs to proceed with the Student Union and Recreation Center project by approving t he site immediately north of Black Hall and west of Chestnut Mall, and authorized the relocation of the power transmission lines. The route for this relocation will be presented for approval at the Board of Trustees meeting March 14, 2003. The completion of this final design phase will be subject to the board’s approval of the financial plan for the issuance of a construction bond in early 2004, which will be presented at the May 9, 2003 board meeting.
  • 03-07: The Board authorized the board chair to sign the interagency cooperative agreement between the City of Ellensburg, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, Kittitas County, and Central Washington University to determine a reconnection route through Ellensburg for the John Wayne Trail.
  • 03-08: The Board approved the following supplemental S&A allocations: $550,000 one-time allocation for the SUB/REC Project, $6580 to cover travel for 21 students to attend a GALA-LGBTSA conference and to fund several smaller programs, $2,131 to cover a salary increase for a classifies employee, and $7,000 for the Equity and Services Council.
  • 03-09: The Board approved the annual allocation of $850,000 of S&A funds to the SUB/REC Project, effective July 1, 2003.
  • 03-10: The Board received report items 23-29 collectively and approved action items 30-38 collectively.
