General Information

Central Washington University (CWU) does not offer a degree program Chiropractic Medicine or Pre-Chiropractic. "Pre- Chiropractic" is a non-degree advising program through which a student can prepare for admission to a professional Chiropractic Medicine program at another institution. CWU does offer all prerequisite courses necessary for successful admission to such a program.

There are a number of professional Chiropractic Medicine programs throughout the U.S. Requirements for admission vary among the professional schools. The information contained in this handout serves as an overview of those requirements. This handout is your primary source of Pre- Chiropractic information, so be sure to read the following pages in detail. If you have general questions about the Biology major or scheduling of classes, contact the Biology Office (509-963-2731; biology@cwu.edu ) for a referral to a general biology advisor.

Internships

Students should contact and communicate with practicing Chiropractors. These professionals can be very helpful by providing information on preparing for admission, various philosophies of practice, the current state of the profession, etc. It is highly recommended that students gain internship experience working under the direction of a licensed Chiropractor.
