PREREQUISITE: Math 410.1 or equivalent or permission.
STUDENT OUTCOMES FOR MATH 410.2:
This course is designed to give you a reasonably in-depth knowledge of analysis of variance, design of experiments, nonparametric statistical methods and goodness-of-fit techniques.
ATTENDANCE:
To achieve success in any mathematics class, regular attendance is almost imperative. Unlike most subjects, new topics in statistics build on previous knowledge; failure to learn something early will haunt you throughout the course. There will be some modern topics I introduce that are NOT covered in the book. You will be responsible for these. In addition, we will do work in groups, and these groups will not be effective when understaffed. Your fellow group members who depend on you will not appreciate it if you leave them hanging.
PROJECT:
One of the main course goals is for you to do a complete project, beginning with the design of the experiment, and progressing through the data collection, the analysis, and finally the write-up and presentation.
