News:   Loren D. Harris is the recipient of the BFA Vice Presidential Award for the Center for Excellence in Leadership. He will be honored at the May 15, 2007, award ceremony. Loren has been a student employee in the Web Development office for the past two and a half years and has been instrumental in incorporating advanced dynamic technology in the University's website.

News:   Steve Rittereiser, Assistant Vice President for Business Auxiliaries and Public Safety, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Washington State Crime Prevention Association. The award was presented to Chief Rittereiser at WSCPA's spring 2007 meeting in Kelso.

News:   The Wildcat Shop started providing free blue books to students a year ago. Since that time, the store has handed out about 7500 of these books. The costs associated with printing of the books was funded by five sponsors who received acknowledgement for their sponsorship on the back page of each book. This initiative is an example of how the Wildcat Shop helps students save money while promoting sustainability by using recycled paper.

News:   What started with guest lectures in 1990 and 1991 has turned into 15 years of teaching CWU student how to trace their family history. While teaching the SOC 333 (Genealogy) class is far removed from Dave Storla's normal computer work in ITS, it has been a very enjoyable "second job" for Dave. The SOC 333 class is offered on Thursday evenings in Fall Quarter and on Wednesday evenings in Spring Quarter.
