Recycle

Introduction

Have you ever wondered why people sort there garbage? Why they throw away glass in a different container as plastic? Why your teacher recycles paper after an art project? Well were going to find out why it's important to recycle! Recycling is taking the products that we have already used and reusing them to make new products with them. This is important because if we don't recycle, one day we might use up all of the raw materials it takes to make important products that we need. Then we would no longer be able to make them!

The big question that this project is centered around is:
Why should we recycle?

Task

Your job is to create a brochure that we will hand out to the other kids in our school . The brochure must have information on what recycling is and include 10 facts on this topic. The information used must be from the various websites listed below. This is going to be done in groups of 2 or 3 students. Everything on the brochure must be typed and it should have at least two pictures on it and make sure that your brochure is neat and readable. This is because we will making 10 copies of your brochure after you turn it in to me, for you and your partner(s) to hand out to other classrooms around the school!

The Process

While your working on this project with your group members, you guys may want to explore a couple different aspects of the topic recycling. Each of the group members can pick a question(s) from the list below and research it. Make sure that you take good notes and put all of the facts and information you find in your own words so your classmates can understand it. Also remember to cite your sources so we know what websites you used to find your great information! Some questions that you can explore may include:

What is recycing?

What can we recycle?

Why do we need to recycle?

What are the negitive effects of recycleing?

What are the three R's of recycling?

What is not recycleable?

What are some misleading facts about recycleing?

What are some reasons people choose not to recycle?

Where do the things we recycle go?
