Academic Services

Academic Advising Center
The Academic Advising Center provides general and new student advising. They also provide specialized advising for: non-traditional students, minority students, academically at risk students and students of disability.

Academic Achievement Programs
Academic Achievement Programs (AAP) are designed to improve retention rates and to help students improve their academic performance by providing individual and group assistance in understanding course content and developing effective study techniques.

  • Supplemental Instruction:
Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides free, out-of-class study sessions led by a CWU student who has excelled in the course. Selected courses from the university's breadth requirements that have high enrollments and high rates of poor performance or failure have SIs.
  • Student Support Services
The Student Support Services (SSS) program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students towards the successful completion of their postsecondary education.
  • Washington TRiO Expansion Project
To assist participants in overcoming personal, educational, social and other barriers that prevent participants from engaging fully in the life of the university while obtaining a four year degree.
