Ayana Tani, one of Central Washington University’s 2007 Cycle II AUAP students, has joined the CWU trombone choir! Ayana is attending band practices twice each week and is using the trombone that she brought with her from Japan.
Ayana, a Section 4 student, has been attending the class with the twenty or so regular CWU students. She states that, though nervous, she feels that now she “can talk with everyone in the class.” A member of Asia University’s Brass Band, Ayana has played the trombone since she was a junior high school student. Ayana enjoys practicing and playing with the CWU students and is very pleased about being able to join in the class and to experience a “regular American college class.” CWU’s music program and facilities are nationally recognized for their excellence.
A very active student, Ayana has participated in many activities since coming to CWU: Day Camping; the Mariner’s game at Safeco Field; Outreach to Lincoln Elementary School; volunteering at a local pre-school; and she also participates in the Community Friend Program. Het other hobbies include shopping for clothes and food! Good job Ayana! Stay active!
