Central Washington University Astronomy Club

Picture
The CWU Astronomy Club is an organization devoted to outreach and learning. We strive to reach the community, promote interest in the night sky, and educate ourselves and others in the world of astronomy. Everyone is welcome to events and meetings, and no previous knowledge of astronomy is required. This is a learning experience for everyone, with an infinite amount of information to absorb.

What is Astronomy?

Astronomy is the study of celestial objects and their properties, be it motion or composition (what they're made of.) The objects studied can range from stars to galaxies, planets to black holes, and anything that exists outside of our earth's atmosphere. As a club, stars, planets and moons are regularly observed, with the addition of galaxies and nebulae if conditions are appropriate.

Meeting Information

Our 2011-2012 meeting plan is for Monday meetings in Lind room 212. Everyone is welcome to attend meetings and events. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us during this time, or you can email the club at astroclb@cwu.edu.
