My Family

My uncle, George Stefan Andonie, was listed in the World Directory of Historians of Mathematics (Edited by Kenneth O. May and Constance Moore Gardner, Historia Mathematica, University of Toronto, 1972) as a member of the Commission on History of Mathematics of the Division of the History of Science of the International Union for the History and Philosophy of Science (UNESCO). He is the author of several books, including the monumental History of Mathematics in Romania (in three volumes, Romanian), Editura stiintifica, Bucharest, 1965. He wrote two documents about my ancestors. These documents are not only very well written, but represent a piece of Romanian history, being of general interest:

My uncle, Commander Calistrat Andonie (1885 – 1964), with a very interesting introduction to the history of Romanian marine, in French. He is the author of the following papers on military strategy, in Romanian:
