Membership for Alpha Lambda Delta that lasts a lifetime begins as soon as you turn in your application and dues. Dues are $50 - $20 pays for Lifetime National dues and the other $30 supports your local chapter. Here at the Central Washington University chapter, we strive for excellence and are committed to achieving Alpha Lambda Delta's purpose, which can be seen to the left.
Established in 1924 at the University of Illinois as an honorary for freshmen women, Alpha Lambda Delta has continued in its tradition of excellence for the past 80 years. The honor society has over 225 chapters across the country and over 600,000 initiated members.

To become a member in Alpha Lambda Delta, a student must have an accumulative GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale by the end of their freshman winter quarter. Students receive invitations at the beginning of spring quarter and are initiated towards the end of the year.
The Central Washington University chapter was installed in 2002. As the "torch" has been passed year after year, Alpha Lambda Delta remains committed to service on the Central Washington University campus as well as the Ellensburg community. Becoming a member of this prestigious organization is rewarding as bonds are formed and memories are made that can last a lifetime. Our chapter is currently the only chapter of ALD in Washington.
The insignia of Alpha Lambda Delta represents a lit candle. The golden base of the candle signifies honesty and integrity, which are the foundations on which we build, the shaft of the candle signifies strength and courage; and the light of our candle signifies truth and wisdom, which dispels ignorance and superstition and gives us the insights to live well in our own time. |
