Rush and the Pledge Process
Rush is held once at the beginning of every quarter. It is a means for inducting students into the pledge process. The pledge process is the official fraternial process for examing inductees for their eligibility in becoming an Alpha Kappa Psi Brother. The pledge process is a six week obligation which involves written examinations, interviews, and required community service. Alpha Kappa Psi and the Kappa Xi Chapter seek the best and brightest students. We require a serious dedication to the pledge process. Please inquire if interested, but if you are not wholly devoted as a Pledge to the pledge process you will not be accepted.
Criticl Success Factors as a Pledge
Certain success factors exist for Pledges. Listed are some suggestions for incoming Pledges. Suggestions are based on experience from Brothers, who like yourself, were pledges at one point.
- Contact your Big immediately
- Attempt to form relationships with fellow pledge members
- Volunteer for duties as much as possible
- Be patient, calm, and understanding
- Dont be afraid to ask for help and advice from your Big
- and most importantly plan ahead!!
Hopefully, those pointers will help ease the pledge process. Good Luck pledges!
