Field Definitions:
  • Fragmented- Departments or units that have essential functions not housed in close physical proximity.
  • Space Quality - Existing space the department or unit is housed in hinders, limits or imposes hardship on functional effectiveness.
  • Space Compaction - Department or unit has outgrown existing space allocation resulting in
  • High Growth - Department or unit has a recent demonstrated history of growth along with future projected growth that is expected to significantly exceed general university growth trends.
  • Other- This includes new programs or grants along with any other space or space related need.

If your principal budget authority or division head agrees that it is a proposal that should be pursued, you will then be asked to work with representatives of the budget office, facilities management department, and the academic space planning office to develop a more detailed budget proposal or through the curriculum review process to obtain approval.
