The Washington State Department of Transportation will be constructing wildlife crossing structures (bridges and underpasses) to help maintain ecological connectivity for wildlife populations in the Cascades. Dr. Kristina Ernest’s lab is collecting baseline data to determine how well connected the pika populations are now, and provide data to compare with future connectivity data after the crossing structures are in place.
