Kimberly Loren Eaton

Kimberly Loren Eaton is a generative artist focused directing and developing new theatrical work, who believes that art and advocacy are inseparable, as worldview and voice drive both. Particularly drawn to stories which move social and cultural conversations forward, and to women-driven work, Kimberly aims to create simultaneously dramaturgically sound and text driven work.

Additional select directing credits include: Blackbird (Harlequin Productions, State Theatre, Olympia, WA), Terroir (New Perspectives Theatre Company, NYC)Daughters of the Sexual Revolution (currently in development for a commercial theatrical production in NYC) with Sarah Steele and Tim Busfield, Woodward Award finalist American Dream, with David Morse, Tamara Tunie, and Sarita Choudhury (Manhattan Theatre Club), The Forgetting Curve (Boston Center for the Arts, Calderwood Pavilion, Wimberly mainstage), Ain’t Far From Home (MTF- Playwrights Horizons Downtown), One of the Nice Ones with Zachary Quinto, Betsy Wolfe, Ray Lee, and Adrienne C. Moore (NYC reading), Totems (Wild Banshee), Jack London: Sex, Love, and Revolution (The Living Theater), Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library (Museum of Jewish Heritage), and has been developing The Good China, and Sammy’s Bowery Follies, starring A.J. Shively, as well as several television projects and is writing a film. SDCF 2019-20 Observership Directing Fellow, Women’s Work Lab Directing Fellow at New Perspectives Theatre Company, and DirectorsLab: Chicago 2018 Directing Fellow, Kimberly is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers union (SDC), and represented by the Michael Moore Agency.

Founder and principal of Theatrum Mundi Productions, a producing and creative development consulting company, Kimberly has been involved with the producing teams of Fun Home (Broadway- 5 Tony Awards including Best Play, and National Tour), The Velocity of Autumn (Broadway), Tonya & Nancy (NYMF), and Freud’s Last Session (Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play).

Taught and coached acting for a decade, to over 2,000 students.

Former Artistic & Managing Director (youngest ever of an Off-Broadway theatre) of the Marjorie S. Deane Theater, which she ran for five years, in the black through the recession, and to critical success.

Will launch new collective in 2020, featuring ten diverse ready-to-work early and mid-career directors on the rise, from around the U.S. and U.K., to produce director-driven work in Chicago, New York, and London.
