A simple invitation from George Elementary school has turned into an 'extended tour.' When Kate Gregory, CWU Theatre Arts and Education senior, was invited to develop a small show for the students in George Elementary, she had no idea it would have such a life. Once the show had performed in George, the daycare in Brooklane heard about the show and asked if it could be performed there as well.
“We may be bringing it to Ellensburg Elementary,” said Gregory. “It may also be using this piece for the Homeschooled Co-op in Ellensburg.”
Together with cast members Adam Fisher, Tim Scott, Jenalee Mariotti, Kaylinn Turpin, Miranda Bellah, Ryan Anderson, Jennifer Ives, and Allison Price , Gregory developed a piece they call A Children's Show of Shel Silverstein Poems.
Gregory wanted the group to be able to perform it for Central. It is schedule to be performed in Hertz 122 at 5 pm on April 11. This is a free performance.
The production is intended for all ages.
Parking at CWU is free after 4:30 p.m., and on weekends, except in specially designated spaces and residence hall lots.
