Admission Requirements and Four-Year Plans of Study

Please Note:  All BFA programs are three-year sequences at CWU. Students seeking to transfer into the BFA programs at CWU may wish to consider a 1+3 transfer model as the preferred track for transfer.  Please consult the department chair for various methods of making the most efficient transfer to CWU on the 1+3 model.

BA - Theatre Arts: General Studies

  • Entrance Requirement
    A cumulative grade point average of 2.7 in the pre-admission requirements courses must be achieved with a minimum grade of “C+” (2.3) in each course. The applicant must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in all other collegiate study.
    Students seeking a BA degree must complete one year of college/university study or two years of high school study of a single foreign language.
    Students who have met all the above requirements will be admitted unless the number of eligible applicants exceeds available space. In that case, acceptance will be acceptance will be competitive, based on a selection index.

BFA - Theatre Arts: Design and Production Specialization

    Admission to the BFA is by audition/interview only. Audition/interview screening begins with an online application.

BFA - Theatre Arts: Performance Specialization

  • Entrance Requirement
    Admission to the BFA is by audition/interview only. Audition/interview screening begins with an online application.

BFA - Theatre Arts: Musical Theatre Specialization

  • Entrance Requirement
    Admission to the BFA is by audition/interview only. Audition/interview screening begins with an online application.

 

Completing these courses does not guarantee admission to Central Washington University or the degree program.
