Graduation Application and Certification

The Graduation Application must be submitted directly to Degree Checkout in Bouillon Hall or online through MyCWU. Please contact Degree Checkout for application deadlines or go online to http://www.cwu.edu/registrar/degree-checkout for more information. The fee associated with graduation is $50. 

Certification is when the Teacher Certification Office recommends you to OSPI for the Residency Teaching Certificate. Completing the Teacher Certification Program requires that you meet the following:

     A.  Have been fully admitted to the Teacher Certification Program 
     B.  3.0 GPA CWU/Transfer cumulative or last 45 graded credits - must earn a minimum grade
           of "C" in all required courses for certification
     C.  Current fingerprint clearance
     D.  Valid Pre-Residency Clearance
     E.  Logged 450 field experience hours - planning/teaching/assessing

     F.  Passing West E or NES score received in the Teacher Certification Office
     G. Passing edTPA score received in the Teacher Certification Office
     H.  Degree posted to your MyCWU account
     I.   Student account balance paid in full

Additional Requirements based on program:
Bilingual Education: passing ACTFL scores received in the Teacher Certification Offiice
CTE (Business & Marketing Education, Family & Consumer Sciences Education, Technology Education): complete Section A of OSPI Form 4075E and submit to the Teacher Certification Office

The Teacher Certification Office will email you when you have been recommended to OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) for the certificate and include instructions for claiming your certificate.  If you have questions, please email us at teachercertification@cwu.edu.
