October 29: Tree Campus Higher Education -- Service Learning Project

The Riparian area know as “South Park”, south of Munson Hall requires annual inspection and maintenance to monitor the health of Wilson Creek and the surrounding vegetation. As CWU expands its partnership with Mid-Columbia Fisheries (MCF) and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) it is important to understand our impact on Wilson Creek. This project will provide data to use as a template for our future development of the riparian area throughout the Ellensburg campus

  • Location: Munson Hall between University Way and 7th Ave
  • Time: 10am- 12pm

November 6: Harnessing the potential of used glass, locally  (Zoom webinar)

Do you believe that the time is ripe to develop innovations from recycled materials?  This Zoom event focuses on exploring how to use post-consumer glass in a profitable industry. We will be exploring how ingenuity can pay off and how a college setting can facilitate that.  A panel of speakers calling in from all over the country will discuss how recycled glass is a resource, how it can be diverted from landfills, and how our reliance on mining raw materials can be decreased.
