Job Description:
Monday-Friday 2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.–(academic year only)
State licensed nonprofit program for 40 elementary students
Hiring now for the 2012-2013 Academic Year
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Actively lead and engage 12-15 (may vary) elementary students in recreational activities
• Maintain safety at all times
• Facilitate good sportsmanship during indoor and outdoor games
• Prepare monthly calendar of recreational activities
• Create and update “What a Sport” bulletin board weekly
• Teach new games and skills; baseball, basketball, etc.
• Interact positively with director, parents, co-workers and students
• Maintain equipment in good working order– check for safety, organize storage
• May accompany students to the Ellensburg city swimming pool on Fridays
• Help prepare snack one day a week and coordinate special events with other staff /participate in other activities (on occasion)
Minimum Qualifications / Skills Needed:
• Experience in a recreational or coaching setting involving elementary students
• Must demonstrate a genuine interest in children and be team player
• Enthusiastic and positive when working with elementary students
• Experience in (or willingness to learn) teaching/modeling/reinforcing good sportsmanship/safe behavior
