Duties & Responsibilities: 
Working the Circulation counter, shelving library materials, shelve reading, general library cleaning, inventory, mail-room and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills Needed: 
Must be reliable, able to push book cart weighing 50+ pounds, shelve library materials on high and low shelves, and enjoy working with the public
Why do you need this position?: 
Library Assistants are responsible to work the public circulation desk to insure proper student service and must follow Library policy and procedures.

Employment in the Library is intended to be a learning experience for the student. This is often the first work experience for many of our work study students. The expectation of each student worker is to be friendly, courteous and polite to all students, staff, faculty and community borrowers. Students are trained to do all essential library work including using circulation computers to charge and discharge materials. Through their work at the library they learn how a library can help them to achieve their educational goals.
