Job Title: 
Paper Recycling Assistant 148A
Job Description: 
To act in the capacity of Paper Recycling Assistant providing direct client support and mentoring one-on-one or in small groups to sort grades of paper, identify client work strengths and assist in the daily operation of the recycling center. Assist in every way to support the vocational goals of primarily Developmentally Disabled Adults and Young Adults who are transitioning from school to work.

Practical Experience in the following educational fields: Sociology, Social Work, Family Studies, Education, Specifically Special Education, Psychology, Environmental Studies
Duties & Responsibilities: 
Communicate with Internal and External Customers in a professional manner to answer questions, disseminate information, take orders and address minor complaints as directed. Learn to identify and teach grades of paper, proper sorting techniques and encouragement to improve individual production goals. Weigh, measure and record individual daily production. Maintain and support quality control efforts with consistent accuracy. Update and record attendance as needed. Redirect focus and behaviors in positive manner.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills Needed: 
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to Multi-task and concentrate on tasks without becoming easily distracted. Must have reliable transportation and possess valid Driver's License. Ability to pass a DSHS Background check. Ability to sit or stand for extended period of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to accurately write reports and/or verbalize specific incidents or observations of behaviors. Other related duties as assigned. Preferred Skills: Previous experience working with children or adults in a support function. Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing work environment.
