HIRING NOW FOR SUMMER AND FALL 2012! Due to the nature of the position and travel required, hours for the position will be flexible. It is anticipated that the temporary videographer will work approximately 20-30 hours per week through summer and up to 19 hours/week during fall quarter.
Summary of Duties: The temporary videographer will work with the Assistant Director of West-side Student Life to document signature events and student life at the West-side campuses and work to maximize the marketing efforts of the West-side Student Leadership Groups. Duties and Responsibilities -Document West-side Student Leadership Group events during summer and fall quarters -Interview students, staff, and faculty to obtain narratives about benefits of Student Leadership Groups at the 5 West-side campuses -Document West-side graduation celebration and various West-side events, activities, and programs -Synthesize footage and produce multiple promotional and recruitment videos for use by Westside Student Life to hire future students for the leadership groups and market events -Other duties as assigned
Qualifications -Expertise with videography and film editing -Ability to provide personal camcorder, film editing software, and other related equipment -Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students and staff of all backgrounds and abilities -Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and follow through skills -Demonstrated flexibility and effective time management skills -Ability to attend events on weekends and evenings -Ability to travel among the 5 West-side University Centers to document events as necessary
Purpose of Position:
Central Washington University (CWU) West-side University Centers enroll approximately 1200 students. West-side Student Life provides resources and activities for students attending the 5 West-side University Centers and teaching sites (Lynnwood, Des Moines, Pierce, Kent, and Everett). Our goals are to engage the West-side student body and develop a sense of campus community through: student activities, clubs, collaboration with community college partners, co/extra-curricular programming, and support of non-traditional student populations.
Supervision: The temporary videographer will report directly to the Assistant Director for Westside Student Life. The Assistant Director represents all Westside students and travels primarily between the Lynnwood and Des Moines campuses.
