Hours Per Week:
Work 14 hours per week -Voting member of the Board of Directors -Chair of the Equity and Services Council -Initiate community service projects on behalf of the Board of Directors -Coordinate the hiring and management of the office Equity & Services Council support staff -Serve, as directed by the Board of Directors or the ASCWU President, on task forces created on behalf of the ASCWU -Provide the Executive Vice President with a monthly update of the Equity and Services Council budget -Serve as liaison to University equity/diversity task forces and committees on behalf of and with the approval of the Board of Directors -Serve as liaison to university community service task forces and committees on behalf of and with the approval of the ASCWU Board of Directors -Represent the ASCWU Board of Directors at Ellensburg City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Association meetings on a regular basis -Meet at least once (1) per month with the director of the Center for Diversity & Social Justice -It is the responsibility of the Vice President for Equity and Community Affairs to uphold the duties, responsibilities and ideals of the ASCWU Constitution, By-Laws, and Policies
-Have completed forty-five (45) credit hours of which thirty (30) credit hours shall be complete at Central Washington University, these credits must be conferred prior to appointment -Be in good standing (both quarterly and cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher) for those credit hours completed at Central Washington University, these hours must be conferred prior to appointment -Time Management -Ability to work well with others and contribute positively in a team environment -Multi-task -Ability to use technology in completing job functions (computer, email, cell phone, office correspondence, excel, word, drupal web design etc.) -Demonstrated ability advocating for social justice issues and concerns
Purpose of Position:
-To serve the Associated Students of Central Washington University -Communicate concerns to University Administrative counterparts in order to positively affect the campus community as a whole and support under privileged and under represented students and organizations on the Central Washington University campus.
-Unique opportunity to be included in program development, budget administration, conducting formal meetings and administrating University Policies and Procedures -Develop and or deepen appreciation and understanding of issues in society regarding students with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
