Hours Per Week:
Need 1 student to work up to 10 hours per week during summer quarter and up to 19 hour during Academic Year. Position Purpose : The Student Liaison connects non-traditional students with their home campus, coordinates engaging programming that serves the needs of the student population, seeks to develop a sense of campus community, and leads a group of their peers on the Student Leadership Group (SLG).
Meet weekly with the Assistant Director for West-side Student Affairs to discuss center issues, student events and programs Work to increase student awareness of CWU Pierce programs, services, and resources In partnership with Assistant Director, Site Director, and SLG, coordinate, plan, implement and assess extra- and co-curricular activities including development of program outcomes Serve as the lead in activity coordination, including contacting vendors, businesses, and obtaining estimates Develop event evaluations, attendance counts and other relevant data to measure program outcomes Work with the Assistant Director to develop weekly SLG meeting agendas Attend all SLG meetings and facilitate agenda and discussion Attend all planned events and programs Set professional expectations for SLG representatives Represent the SLG on CWU Pierce site and staff meetings and share concerns and accomplishments of student groups Attend all mandatory training and leadership development development sessions Provide written quarterly reports to the Assistant Director and ASCWU BOD
Strong interest in working with students, staff, faculty, and community college partners Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills Minimum GPA of 2.50 Must have attended CWU for at least 1 quarter before applying
Purpose of Position:
Student Liaisons will provide support and outreach efforts. Their main responsibility is to connect university center students with main campus, providing student representation and giving students a voice. This position will enhance communication channels and develop a sense of community through a grassroots student-led effort.
The Liaison will have the opportunity to improve and enhance their communication and leadership skills. They will work closely with their peers, gain knowledge of event planning and coordination, and function as a member of an active student-centered department.
