Essential Functions: 
•Assist with reception duties, including answering phones, transferring calls and filing. •Respond to student and other customer inquiries: provide information to prospective and current students related to the admissions process, deadlines, registration, campus events, etc. •Advise students about CWU Pierce County programs through outreach activities. •Promote/participate in special campus projects and events; may conduct surveys. •Enter data into Excel spreadsheets and other online systems as directed. •Prepare student files and copy documents for Center projects. •Compile packets for and assist with information sessions and new student orientation. •Maintain confidential records and FERPA guidelines. •Attend meetings,trainings and in-services as designated. •Perform errands,office duties, and other projects as need for the Center.
Necessary Skills: 
Ability to work in a team environment with students and others from various diverse backgrounds. Exceptional customer service and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills - Word and Excel. Ability to work during Center hours.
Purpose of Position: 
The Student Assistant (SA) will support the CWU Pierce County Center to recruit, inform, and retrain students by participating in outreach activities and events. The SA will also provide office support by providing information, answering questions, and facilitating customer service activities in person, via phone, and email.
