Student Achievement Outreach

Tutoring for Online and Center Students

Need a little help?

Student Success is the most important thing at Central. To assist our online and university center students in their academic endeavors, CWU provides online writing assistance.
Nearly all classes at CWU will require writing, even those classes that you might not have expected to include a writing assignment. Our online tutors are students just like you and have taken many of the classes you are taking. We know that writing is an individualized process, and we are here to help you

• Brainstorm ideas
• Clearly articulate your thoughts in writing
• Properly cite and format your paper in APA or MLA
• Double check your grammar, mechanics, and structure
• Review your work for logic and flow

How does online tutoring work?
We make access to tutoring easy. As an online or center student, you are automatically enrolled in online tutoring. Simply log in to Canvas, find the Online Tutoring course, and click on how you would like to work with a tutor:

• Email (24-48 hour turnaround)
• Skype
• Phone
You can also view our helpful Writing Modules, watch video tutorials about common writing topics, or post a question to our chat room and discussion boards.

Even if you don’t think you need help right now, we encourage you to look around our Canvas page and see what tutoring is all about. For more information about Online Writing Tutoring, or to make an appointment with a tutor, please email us at onlinetutoring@cwu.edu.
