Need a little help?

Student Success is the most important thing at Central. To assist our online and university center students in their academic endeavors, CWU provides online math tutoring and writing assistance. These services are available to CWU students who are online or at the university centers.

Online tutors are students just like you and have successfully passed many of the classes you are taking. They can help you to understand the professor’s assignment, help you articulate your thoughts, and help ensure that you are working up to your professor’s expectations. They can also assist with research and citation methods.

Writing Support: Nearly all classes at CWU require writing skills at some point. The CWU Online Tutoring Center provides one on one writing support for students through Canvas, and we make access to services easy. As an online or center student, you are automatically enrolled in online tutoring. Simply log in to Canvas, find the Online Tutoring course, and click on the course for video and text resources, our quarterly tutoring schedule, drop-in hours, appointments with a tutor, and instructions for accessing online tutoring sessions through CWU email (24-48 hour turnaround) or Blackboard Collaborate (real-time).

Math Support– For students needing help with mathematics, our tutors can work in the Canvas Online Tutoring course through Blackboard Collaborate, where we help you to reason through problem solving, using white boards and calculators to help visually represent concepts found in class or on homework questions.

For more information about Online Math and Writing tutoring, visit the Online Tutoring Course in Canvas or email us at onlinetutoring@cwu.edu.  You may also request an appointment with an online tutor by using our online appointment request form at bit.ly/OnlineTutoringAppt.
