About the Major

The hybrid component of the EMS Paramedicine Major is designed for students who are looking to become a paramedic from an authorized training program from Central Washington University. This accredited program meets all of the national and Washington State standards in paramedic education. We are opening sites in Ellensburg and other Washington locations.

Doug PrestaProgram Director : Doug Presta, DPM, NRP

Doug Presta earned his Paramedic certification at the University of Iowa, his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry at Eastern Washington University and his DPM at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. His career includes Paramedic/Firefighter at Spokane County Fire District 8, Sports Medicine Physician & Surgeon at Valley Hospital in Renton, Director of Vocational Education at Inland Northwest Health Services, to include the position as Director of the Paramedic Program at St Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute.  Doug is married to his beautiful wife Teresa and has 2 daughters.  His interests include running, adventure racing and soccer.
