About the Major
The Sociology Department provides opportunities for students to understand the conceptual and methodological tools used by sociologists to understand society. Students in this 45-credit major are required to complete either a minor or a second major in another discipline. Students seeking a B.A. degree must complete one year college/university study or two years high school study of a single world language.
The small plan Sociology major is designed to compliment another major or minor to specifically meet student career goals, which are interdisciplinary in nature. The small plan major combines well with Law & Justice, Psychology, Anthropology, Communications, Business and with several minors, including Ethnic Studies, Latino & Latin American Studies, Africana and Black Studies, and American Indian Studies.
